Savage
Barker and Backhouse commenced business in 1979 in Rockhampton.
It was created by three ex Winchcombe Carson employees. In
1999 Russell Collins purchased the business and managed it in a
hands on manner until March 2007 when Ruralco holdings purchased
the business in its entirety. The business focus is
mainly commercial cattle marketing through Gracemere saleyards,
Stud cattle marketing, Rural Merchandise supplies, Rural Real
Estate and Clearing Sales specialists.
The
original philosophy of providing specific rural requirements for
clients has not changed since the inception of the business.
