ABOUT US
Savage Barker and Backhouse commenced business in 1979 in Rockhampton. It was created by three ex Winchcombe Carson employees. In 1999 Russell Collins purchased the business and managed it in a hands on manner up till March 2007 when Queensland Rural purchased the business in its entireity. The business focus is mainly commercial cattle marketing through Gracemere saleyards, stud cattle marketing, rural merchandise supplies, rural real estate and clearing sales specialists.

The original philosophy of providing specific rural requirements for clients has not changed since the inception of the business.

  
STAFF PROFILES
   
Bill Beck: Manager. The holder of a real estate licence. Has been with SBB for seven years. Has been associated with the industry all his working life which includes comprehensive experience in western queensland and the central highlands. Also involved with the weekly cattle sales and stud cattle sales.
Neville Messer: Livestock Auctioneer and Salesperson. The holder of an auctioneers licence. Worked with a major pastoral house from the start of his agency career and has been with SBB for 19 years. SBBs main auctioneer for weekly cattle sales, stud cattle sales, and clearing sales.
Wendy Laycock: Livestock Accounts Administration Officer. Has a comprehensive knowledge of all our livestock transactions and is responsible for the production of invoicing & account sales with commercial cattle sales & stud cattle sales. Has been with SBB for eight years.
Sharon Connor: General Accounts (part time employee). Has been with SBB for 12 years and has been involved with the transition from hand written accounting progressively through to complete computerised systems. Areas of responsibility include payment of accounts, debtor accountability, & production of reports.
Brad Mulvihill : Livestock & stud stock sales person
Brad joined SBB in February 2008. He has been involved in the primary industries all his life with a particular interest in stud cattle. He has an Associate Diploma in Farm Management from Queensland Ag College. His major role is supporting the weekly cattle sales at Gracemere, stud sales, And real estate sales.
